The Sask Five Giants Association (SFGA) requires our head coaches to have a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check completed every two years.
The two forms, as provided by the RCMP, are to be completed by each individual coach and taken to either the RCMP branch in Martensville or Warman. Two pieces of identification are required, including one piece of photo identification.
Once the checks are completed by the RCMP, each individual coach will provide the completed forms back to the SFGA. Either the completed forms are included with the coaching application or provided to the respective SFGA division coordinator.
The RCMP have been consulted and are aware of our Associations requirements. There is no fee charged for this service as the RCMP provides this free service to volunteer associations.
Be advised, the SFGA has no control over the length of time it takes the RCMP to complete the necessary checks, or if fingerprinting is required. If fingerprints are required this may add three to six weeks to the process; as such we recommend coach applicants have their checks completed well in advance of the season.
